My Club's site : the Yacht Club of the North Sea in Dunkirk
This site and software use the data issued by www.now.com
The maps which you will find here below are drawn with a free software that you can download from this site.
With this software you can load the positions and speeds of the competitors completely automatically in a few seconds from the web if Excel 97 or Excel 2000 is installed on your machine and spot the boats and their perfomances right away on the maps.

If you have not got any of those versions you can get the data daily (downloaded in one second) from an archive directory and use the software the same way.

You can zoom in, zoom out , compute distances, redraw individual routes, simulate the progress and so on ... This software is the same as the one that I developed for the Vendée Globe Race (sorry but only a french version of this one is available).

The archives will allow you to recover the missing data from the previous days.

Files are zip files. If you have not got an unzipper you can download the evaluation version of Winzip 8.0 here which will always enable you to unzip files from the web.

TO INSTALL :

1. Download the geographical maps here. Then unzip the file in a dedicated directory of your choice that you will not move or rename afterwards.

2. Download the application itself here. Put the file in a temporary directory and extract it there. Then run Setup.exe and install it as usual. You will then find an icon in START/PROGRAMS that will enable you to run the software. VERSION 3.0

The archives are obtainable here under DDMMYY.txt text files (or compilations).

All files have been checked virus free with Norton AV updated the very day they were sent on the server.

Latest version : VERSION 3.2 (01/03/01) to all who have a previous version , you need to update the application here (3 mn). just unzip the file in the directory of the application . (This VERSION solves the error that appeared since www.now.com have changed their web page)

Known technical problems have their solution here.

On the maps here under you will find the legend of the speed vectors in the online help reproduced here
